“The characters in your fiction are people. Human beings… Readers want to get to know your characters as well as they know their own friends, their own family. As well as they know themselves. No– better than they know any living person… That’s part of what fiction is for– to give a better understanding of human nature and human behavior than anyone can ever get in life.” – Orson Scott Card
